The IP-S2 Compact + overcomes the challenges of mapping 3D features at a high level of accuracy. The IP-S2 provides fast, high accuracy data and dynamic imaging for any linear mapping project.
This vehicle-mounted system can map data at normal travel speeds for roadway surface condition assessments and roadside feature inventories. Other applications include pipelines, railways, utility corridors, and waterways.

Integrated Positioning
The IP-S2 Compact + overcomes the challenges of mapping linear features with high accuracy, even in scenarios where satellite signals can be blocked by obstructions such as buildings, bridges, or tree lines. Vehicle positions are obtained using a combination of dual-frequency GNSS receiver for geospatial positioning, an IMU tracks vehicle attitude and connection to external wheel encoders obtains odometry information.
Three-scanner or five-scanner system configuration
The standard system comes with 3 laser scanners, positioned for optimal scanning of roadside assets. This standard setup gives full 360 degree Vertical Field of View and the optional 5-scanner setup increases cloud density and minimises scanning shades. The optional 5-scanner system collects 150,000 points per second at a range of 40 metres, with a vertical field of view of 360 degrees.
Compact + Software
Topcon’s powerful Geoclean software post processes the georeferenced LiDAR and/or digital imaging data into a viewable 3D image representation which can then be exported to industry standard formats. GNSS data can be post-processed against a reference station for higher accuracy.
