Position Partners welcomes Sam Cater as National OEM Business Development Manager

Position Partners has appointed Sam Cater as National Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Business Development Manager. As machine control technology becomes increasingly commonplace on large and small earthmoving projects alike, Mr Cater will be responsible for developing partnership agreements with leading earthmoving machinery manufacturers and their Australian distributors to incorporate integrated Topcon machine control solutions into their business.

Mr Cater brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked for the past eight years at Volvo’s Australian distributors, CJD Equipment.

“We are delighted to welcome Sam to the Position Partners team,” said Harry Katsanevas, Position Partners Business Area Manager for Machine Systems. “His experience and knowledge will be a great asset to the company and I am sure he will thrive in this role.”

As a Major Accounts Manager in Queensland for CJD, Mr Cater saw first-hand the benefits of combining machine control technology with a new machine sale as a value-add to the customer. With machine control commonly required on major projects by tier one contractors, customers can win more work with a combination of new machinery and the latest machine control system from Topcon.

“The technology has serious implications for the civil construction industry and there are strong opportunities for the manufacturers and their distributors to embrace it,” Mr Cater said.

“The challenge for most manufacturers is providing adequate support to customers who want to adopt machine control,” he added. “That’s where Position Partners is able to help. By partnering together, we can ensure that the customer’s needs are fully catered for, to support both the machine and the machine control system on-board.”

Mr Cater will be based in Position Partners’ Brisbane office, although he will travel frequently to meet with machine manufacturers and distributors Australia-wide.
